Dagmar Bathmann

Dagmar Bathmann, born in Germany and Pistoiese by adoption, is a cellist and singer who moves between contemporary classical repertoire and improvisation.
She is co-founder and stable member of the Ensemble degli Intrigati.
She is also co-founder of DUOroboros (singing cello and percussion-drums) with Omar Cecchi.
She teaches at the Accademia Musicale in Florence and the Scuola di Musica ‘Teodulo Mabellini’ in Pistoia and is a private singing teacher.

She explores the expressive possibilities offered by the combination of voice and cello, singing and playing simultaneously. With the DUOroboros he re-elaborates works from the classical repertoire, translating them into arrangements for voice, cello and percussion, and devotes himself to the search for new musical languages through the performance of original compositions dedicated to the ensemble.

He studied cello and pedagogy at the Hochschule für Musik Detmold (Germany) and the Haute Ecole de Musique de Lausanne – site de Sion (Switzerland) with Marcio Carneiro and Alexander Gebert, graduating in 2013.
In the two-year period 2013-2015 he held the position of first cello in the Orchestra of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala Milan.

Since 2013, following her passion for singing, she has dedicated herself to the study of Potential Oriented Vocal Training© under the guidance of Susanne Eisch (Germany).
Since 2022 he has been studying improvisation and extemporaneous composition by participating in the Permanent Laboratory of Musical Research led by Stefano Battaglia at Siena Jazz.

He collaborates with conductors and composers such as Fabio Luisi, Susanna Mälkki, Lawrence Foster, Massimo Murrali, Stefano Ranzani, Massimo Zanetti, David Coleman, Min Chung, Roland Böer, Federico Maria Sardelli, Christoph Eschenbach, Antonio Ballista, Renato Rivolta, Andrea Molino, Mauro Montalbetti, Edgar Warren Williams, Ari Ben-Shabetai, Carlo Boccadoro, director Federico Tiezzi and actors Sandro Lombardi, Lucrezia Guidone, Martino d’Amico and Ugo Pagliai.

Omar Cecchi

Percussionist, drummer and researcher graduated with top marks and honours in percussion instruments at the Conservatorio ‘Luigi Cherubini’ in Florence.
In 2012, at the HEM de Genève (Switzerland), he began studying and researching Indian rhythmics.
He studied Mathematics at the University of Florence.
Since 2018, he has been studying Konnakkol (the rhythmic vocal language typical of South India) with B.R. Somashekar Jois and Mridangam (the main percussion of South Indian music) with Patri Satish Kumar.
Since 2022 he has participated in the Permanent Laboratory of Musical Research led by Stefano Battaglia at Siena Jazz.
In 2017, together with cellist-singer Dagmar Bathmann, he created DUOroboros (cello-voice and drums-percussion duo), especially dedicated to contemporary repertoire.
He is co-founder and permanent member of the Ensemble degli Intrigati.
Since 2019, he is the percussionist of the contemporary music ensemble GAMO.
He collaborates with various orchestras and chamber groups (Orchestra del festival Pucciniano, Camerata Strumentale di Prato, Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, Orchestra Milano Classica…).

Since 2014, he has collaborated with the Lombardi-Tiezzi Theatre Company as musical consultant, arranger and percussionist.
He works with conductors and composers such as: Marco Angius, Carlo Boccadoro, Roland Böer, Lorenzo Cadario, Detlev Glanert, Pierre Hantaï, Jan Latham-Koenig, Andrea Molino, Mauro Montalbetti, Ari-Ben Shabetai, Edgar Warren Williams, Jonathan Webb.
He has performed in various contexts, including: Piccolo Teatro di Milano, Teatro Stabile di Torino, Teatro India (Rome), RAI Radio3 (Rome), Teatro Verdi (Pordenone), Aurum (Pescara), Villa Torlonia (Rome), Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, Schlosstheater Rheinsberg (Germany), Teatro dell’Opera di Firenze, Istituto di cultura italiana di Bruxelles (Belgium).
In 2020 he founded Konnakkol Italia, the only academy dedicated to research on the rhythmic language of Konnakkol, its applications and a study of musical Rhythm and Time from an ethnomusicological perspective.
He teaches percussion and drums at the Liceo Musicale ‘Cicognini-Rodari’ in Prato and at the municipal school ‘T. Mabellini’ in Pistoia.

Francesco Checchini

Born in 1994, he began his studies at a very young age at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole under the guidance of Maestro Luciano Tristaino, graduating in flute at the age of 16 at the Conservatorio Luigi Boccherini in Lucca. From a young age passionate about the contemporary repertoire and timbral explorations of his instrument, after high school he specialised under the guidance of M° Mario Caroli at the Conservatorio della Svizzera Italiana in Lugano and at the Strasbourg Conservatory. In 2019 he obtained his second level diploma at the Conservatorio Vecchi Tonelli in Modena with 110 cum laude and honourable mention under the guidance of M° Michele Marasco, M° Andrea Oliva and M° Gabriele Betti, with an in-depth thesis on the composers Edgar Varèse and Giacinto Scelsi.

Finally, he specialised in the orchestral repertoire with maestros Andrea Oliva, Davide Formisano and Paolo Rossi. Over the years he has participated in masterclasses with: Emmanuel Pahud, Felix Renggli, Karl-Heinz Schütz, Emily Beynon, Paolo Taballione, Mario Ancillotti, Clara Andrada and Silvia Careddu.

He is a permanent member of the Ensemble degli Intrigati.

Always pursuing his passion for the orchestra, he is currently a member of the following orchestras: La Filharmonie in Florence, the Young Musicians European Orchestra in Ravenna and the Orchestra Senzaspine in Bologna, with which he has played under the baton of prestigious conductors and performs at numerous music festivals in Italy and abroad.

In 2019, he was first flute in the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana, with which he played in the most important Italian festivals under the direction of: Daniele Gatti, Luciano Acocella, Gianna Fratta, Pierre-André Valade, Jérémie Rhorer, Alexander Lonquich, and with soloists such as: Katia & Marielle Labèque, Giovanni Gnocchi.
In 2022 he performed as soloist with the Ensemble Maderna in the 2021/2022 season of the Bonci Theatre in Cesena, under the direction of Karl-Heinz Schütz.
Since 2024 he has collaborated as first flute with the Orchestra Haydn di Bolzano, with the Orchestra i Pomeriggi Musicali di Milano and with the Orchestra Sinfonica di Milano and as second flute and piccolo with the Orchestra della Toscana. Over the years he has collaborated with orchestras such as the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan, the Orchestra Bazzini Consort, and the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato.


MASSIMILIANO CUSERI

Born in Arezzo in 1994, he started studying piano with M° Greta Palazzini and later with M° Alessio Tiezzi. He continued his studies at the Conservatorio ‘L. Cherubini’ in Florence under the guidance of M° Maria Teresa Carunchio, and obtained a First Level Academic Diploma in Solo Pianoforte in 2017 and a Second Level Academic Diploma in 2019, both with top marks and honours. He has attended Masterclasses with important musicians, including Daniel Rivera and Pietro Rigacci.

He has been awarded First Prize in numerous national competitions including Gradus ad Musicum Certamen, G. Rospigliosi, Nuovi Orizzonti, Roberto Zucchi Prize, National Piano Competition Città di Castiglion Fiorentino, National Competition of Cesenatico, Rami Musicali, Piano Competition Città di Piove di Sacco. He has been invited to the concert seasons of Casa Ivan Bruschi in Arezzo, Festival Nuova Consonanza and Circolo Culturale Villa Spada in Rome, Festival Valenzano Symphony, Pieve Classica and has taken part in the seasons of Maggio Musicale Fiorentino and Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte in Montepulciano, where on two occasions he was soloist in the festival’s final concert, performing W.A. Mozart’s Concerto K488 and F. Poulenc’s Concerto for two pianos.
He is co-founder and permanent member of the Ensemble degli Intrigati.

He performs an intense chamber music activity, collaborating with artists such as Corrado Giuffredi, Gabriele Mirabassi, Stefano Conzatti, Alessio Vicario, Sara Mingardo and as soloist with the Gams Orchestra of Florence, Orchestra Giovanile della Saccisica, Orchestra Poliziana, Guido d’Arezzo and RNCM Symphony Orchestra of Manchester.
Since 2016 he has been teaching piano at the H. W. Henze Music Institute in Montepulciano and the ‘G. Verdi’ School of Music in Subbiano.


FRANCESCO DARMANIN

Born in 1995, he obtained his diploma in Clarinet in September 2014 with top marks, honours and honourable mention at the Conservatorio Luigi Cherubini in Florence under the guidance of Maestro Fabio Battistelli, before specialising with Maestro Fabrizio Meloni at the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala. A former member of the Orchestra of the Accademia del Teatro alla Scala in Milan, he is currently clarinetist with the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina. He attended the ‘Composition Performance Oriented’ course at the Pinerolo Music Academy with maestros Francesco Antonioni and Alessandro Cadario.

He was awarded first prize in four international composition competitions: ‘V. Mendelssohn International Composition Competition’. ‘Cammini di Francesco Festival’ in Sansepolcro; “Dante700 – International Symphonic Composition Competition”, “2 Agosto” in Bologna. He has had his pieces ‘Filemone e Bauci’ and ‘Lieder der Einsamkeit’ performed at festivals such as La Piccola Stagione in Milan and the Concert Season of the Orchestra Toscana Classica in Florence, ‘Eos’ at the Abruzzo Classica Festival, ‘Hekate – Nove Variazioni per Ensemble’ at the Schlosstheater in Rheinsberg and at the Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano 2022, ‘The Sudden lightness’ at the Ascoli Piceno Festival, the Season of the Almo Collegio Borromeo, Trame Sonore, Staunton music Festival (USA), Sylt chamber Festival (DE), Osnabruck Chamber Festival (DE), Istituto Pontificio di Musica Sacra di Roma, ‘In alto mar per dritto segno’ by the Camerata Strumentale di Prato and La Filharmonie, ‘O Icarus of the fearless flight’ at the Stagione dell’Univerità Normale di Pisa, ‘La collina dei giochi’ by the Orchestra Sinfonica di Sanremo, ‘Essere un Fiore’ by the orchestra of the Teatro Comunale di Bologna.

As a clarinettist, he is the winner of numerous National and International Instrumentalist Awards including ‘Concorso Nazionale Calcit’ 1st prize overall, ‘Concorso Nazionale Silver Città di Vinci’, 1st prize, ‘International Competition Crescendo Prize’ 1st Absolute Prize 100/100 with Crescendo Prize Wind section and 1st Absolute Prize and Special Prize “Chiarappa” Chamber Music section in Duo with pianist Mattia Fusi, “Lions Aldobrandeschi Competition, Grosseto” 1st Prize, Etruria Classica 1st Absolute Prize, Clarinet Competition Accademia di Chiavari 3rd Prize etc. He has collaborated with numerous orchestras and ensembles, including the Orchestra Regionale Toscana, the Cameristi del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, the orchestra of the Accademia Teatro alla Scala, the Orchestra da Camera Fiorentina, the Camerata Strumentale Città di Prato, the Lutoslawsky Chamber Orchestra (soloist with Copland’s Clarinet Concerto, Lomza – Poland), the Orchestra ‘Il contrappunto’ of Empoli (Weber, Clarinet Concerto No. 1 ), the Orchestra ‘Raffaello’ of Urbino (Mozart, Concerto for Clarinet and Orchestra), the GAMO Ensemble and the Ensemble degli Intrigati, working with artists such as Lorenzo Viotti, David Coleman, Roland Boer, Donato Renzetti, Daniele Rustioni, Speranza Scappucci, Eva Ollikainen, Jonathan Webb, Carlo Boccadoro, Marco Angius, Pietro Mianiti, Toshiyuki Kamioka, Wilson Hermanto, Roberto Abbado, David Coleman, Marco Armiliato and others.


MICHELE PIERATTELLI

Michele Pierattelli (Florence, 26 November 1998) began studying the violin at a very young age at the Scuola di Musica di Fiesole, with M° L. Matucci, and then continued his studies at the Conservatorio ‘Luigi Cherubini’ in Florence under the guidance of M° C. Maffei. Maffei with whom he graduated (V. O.) with top marks and honours.
After graduating, he enrolled in the Second Level Violin Diploma, which he completed in 2019 with top marks, honours and mention.
As part of her training, she attended the Chamber Music courses of M° A. Company and M° T. Mealli.
He attended the Masterclasses of M° S. Accardo at the Accademia Chigiana in Siena, M° C. Rossi, M° A. Moccia, M° S. Girshenko and M° D. Pascoletti and, from 2017 to 2023, the Masterclass of M° D. Bogdanovich in Chioggia.
He won the ‘Nuovi Orizzonti’ competition in Arezzo in 2010 in his category and came first overall in the string category at the 2016 ‘Rovere D’Oro’ International Competition in San Bartolomeo a Mare.
After training at the conservatory and also an internship with the Orchestra Regionale Toscana in 2016, he was a deputy of the Orchestra Giovanile Italiana in 2018 and 2019. Thanks to this, he has collaborated with conductors and musicians of the calibre of D. Gatti, K. Blacher, A. Lonquich and J. Rhorer, and has also been invited to collaborate with other European youth orchestras, such as the Wiener Jeunesse Orchester, as a violinist in the row, and the Joven Orquesta Nacional de España, as a violinist in the row and as a sideman.

In 2019, he was also deemed suitable and admitted to the orchestral training courses at the Accademia Teatro alla Scala in Milan.
In February 2020 he won the audition as Violino di Fila at the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, with whom he worked in the audition role and, from October to December 2021, as Concertino dei Violini Secondi.
In May 2022 he won the audition as Concertino dei Violini Primi with the obligation of Spalla e della Fila at the Teatro Petruzzelli in Bari, while in March 2023 he won the competition in the role of Violino di Fila at the ‘Filarmonica Arturo Toscanini’ in Parma. Also in 2023, in June, however, he was the second successful candidate in the competition in the role of Concertino dei Violini Primi with the obligation of Row, Shoulder and Stage replacement at the Teatro Carlo Felice in Genoa, where he has been working since September of the same year.
In May 2019, he performed as Soloist at the Teatro dell’Opera del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, as part of the ‘Dallapiccola Days’.
As a chamber musician, he has to his credit a first prize, acquired in a quintet, at the ‘Città di Moncalieri’ International Competition.
He is a stable member of the Ensemble degli Intrigati.


DAVIDE VANNUCCINI

Musician, sound designer, visual artist, electroacoustic composer.
Graduated in Saxophone and later with honors in Music and New Technologies at the L. Cherubini Conservatory in Florence.
Since 2011 he has dedicated himself to concert practice with chamber music ensembles such as Florentia Saxophone Quartet, Atman Sax, Steelwind Chamber Saxophone Quartet performing in national and international festivals.

At the same time he develops interest in musical technologies by obtaining a Master’s degree in Music for Video Games in 2018, which will lead him to divide his sound practice between the artistic and entertainment sectors.
As a sound designer he will take part in numerous commercials collaborating with brands such as Timberland, Loro Piana, Hyundai, Tradestation, Trenitalia.
He still holds the role of lead sound designer at eArs, dealing with sound narratives for art sites and brands such as: FAI, Fondazione Prada, Museo della Scala, Banca d’Italia, Barilla, Philips.

Since 2016 he has been pursuing the activity of live electronics and electroacoustic composition with a focus towards the improvisational aspect and spatialization, mainly in Ambisonics. In collaboration with Ensemble degli Intrigati he performs at: Fondazione Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, Italian Cultural Institute in Brussels, Musikakademie in Rheinsberg.
As a soloist, he participates both live and as a composer in major festivals such as: Cantiere Internazionale d’Arte di Montepulciano, Sound and Music Computing Conference 2023 (KMH Stockholm), Paysages Composés (Grenoble), Estonian Academy of Music and Theatre, Tempo Reale.
He has been teaching music and music production since 2008 at private and public schools.
